Wedding pictures in the gardens...

For our wedding pictures we went to Sheraton Hotel in downtown Kampala.
Very nice place with a beautiful gardens area.

All of our cars were decorated like this.  We had 5 cars to
carry all of the bridal party and our moms.

The hotel gave us sodas to enjoy before taking pictures.

Off we go...to the garden area

Abdu and I with his aunt.  She took care of him the most
after his mother died when he was 12.  He considers her his mother.

Worst pose EVER!!!  Awkward and uncomfortable for me!

But it was funny.  I was laughing so hard...so was everyone else.

They made us do silly things like me run and him chase me...for the video I suppose...

Peek-a-boo

Abdu's attempt to lift me...I told him he couldn't do it!

So all the boys lifted me up instead!

Then of course the girls wanted to pick up Abdu.

Trying not to laugh...

In honor of Kwagala's sister, Precious, who does the peace sign in every picture.

That's a wrap!  Now onto the reception...

Stay tuned....

The Ceremony...

The time has arrived...just minutes from now we will be married...

Handsome Page Boy and Beautiful Flower Girl

Choir is in place

Here we go...

I'm ready...let's go!

Bridesmaids and groomsmen taking the long walk

The laptop that Derrick is holding was broadcasting the wedding to whoever logged in to see it live.   We really did it for my dad but he found a program that allowed up to 12 people to be logged in at the same time.  I believe there was 11 different people on at one time.  Thank you God for technology.  Thank you to those who woke up at 3am to see the wedding!

Looking for his bride

Here we go...

We did pretty well with not crying too hard...haha!
Also, love my sister with the camera behind us.  In Uganda the
Matron follows the bride to help with the dress.

My beautiful sister

"Does anyone object..."

Mom giving me away on behalf of her and dad

Saying the vows

"With this ring I thee wed..."
(At least I think that's part of what we said)

Love this picture with Dominic peeping through to see.

You may kiss your bride

After we said our vows and exchanged rings we kneeled in front of the church and God
and they had all the pastors and parents come forward to pray over us.

The pastor who married us...never met him before this day and
couldn't tell you his name if you paid me.

Listening to the sermon

Our beautiful daughter

Our handsome nephew

Going over to sign the marriage certificate

They do an offering at the end where everyone can come
congratulate us and put an offering in the basket.

And that's it...we're off to the party!

Love this picture my mom snapped as we were leaving.

Some of our Karamajong children jumped in front
of us for the procession out.

Us with the "parents". On my side is my mom, Pastor Philip and the Inspector of Schools from Karamaoja.
On Abdu's side are his aunts and other women who have been mothers to him throughout his life.

This picture is supposed to be all the "friends" that were present.

That's all folks...on to the gardens for official pictures and then the reception...
