Day Two...

Today Abdu went to coach soccer at a school in the morning and it gave me time to create and post the blogs from earlier this week.  So that was good.  I also took a short nap because I was not feeling so great this morning after eating some breakfast.  I don't think my stomach is a fan of matoke bananas but I won't give up trying because Abdu likes them.

In the afternoon we picked up 3 girls who are in the church choir and live far from the church and have no way to get there if Abdu doesn't pick them up and take them home afterwards.  Abdu is the only adult at the church with a vehicle...although a small Toyota Corolla praise God that it works and he is able to help the children get to and from church.

Then we went to hotel in Kampala that was hosting a prayer conference that Abdu wanted to attend.  We only got to see the last hour of it.  It was good although I understood about 10% of the words...no translator for the mzungu (white person).

We decided to stay there to eat a nice lunch.  We were supposed to meet Ronnie but he got stuck in bad traffic and didn't make it in time.  I had fish fingers and French fries.  It was good to have the protein.  That is something I will lack here because they eat a lot of carbs between potatoes, French fries, rice, and the matoke bananas.

Abdu likes to take pictures when people are least expecting it.
The funny part is this is after I ate all the fish sticks and then gave
him half of my fries because I couldn't eat them all.

In the evening we went to church for the rest of choir practice.  They have improved since I was last here in August.  I was talking to my bestest friend on the internet and heard screaming from the kids and realized they brought in the bibles that were graciously donated by friends in the USA.  They were so excited to see them.  This is not all that will be distributed but these were the ones that were present for choir practice.

These are not the best pictures because it was so dark but wanted to share anyway because it was such a special time for the youth.  They had never had a bible of their own.

My sweet little shy Sharon.
And for the record it is NOT cold. I have to wear a jacket to
protect me from the pesky mosquitos that seem to love me.

I think Abdu has the best laugh!

"How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?"  1 Thessalonians 3:9, NIV

Now we are off to prepare for tomorrow's service.  God bless!

Stay tuned...
